Dr. Wexler, Founder and President of Personnel Systems Inc (PSI), Co-Founder of Psychology21C, and Past President of the New York State Psychological Association (3,000+ members) is an entrepreneurial licensed psychologist, certified personnel consultant, Executive Coach, trainer, dynamic speaker, leader in Industrial, Organizational & Personnel Psychology, author, and educator who is committed to advancing 21st century Executive, Team and Organization Assessment and Development for organizations worldwide. He is also spearheading a movement to create new opportunities for 21st century professionals (e.g., psychologists. Healthcare, HR, legal) in their practice, organizations and other settings. Formerly a Management and Organization Development Specialist for Con Edison, then Manager of Executive Staffing for a major cable television company (6,500 employees), then promoted to a VP of Human Resources, Dr. Wexler managed departments and personnel on both corporate and field levels before creating PSI in 1984. PSI provides 21st Century talent management, business development, social network and organization assessment and development, web 2.0 applications and dynamic consulting tools for leaders and organizations worldwide psychologists, healthcare professionals, leaders and organizations worldwide(e.g. Sweden, France, Denmark, China, Italy, Chile). Services include recruiting; identifying and developing 21st C workplace competencies; executive assessment, coaching and development (including CEOs); Organization Assessment & Development; Management Development and Succession Planning; psychologically healthy workplace development; assessing & testing candidates for all levels; and policies and manuals (e.g., American Express Human Resources Policy Manual). Several years ago, PSI extended operations to provide 21st century tools (e.g., Web2.0, Social Media) to empower psychologists, healthcare and business professional to expand their practices, businesses and professional opportunities.
Dr. Wexler is the author of a number of management systems books and articles, including Prentice Hall’s (later Macmillan’s) annually updated “Personnel Policies Workbook”, “Work and Family Life”, “Aids In The Workplace”, “Aids In The Workplace: A Manager’s Guide”, “Effective Succession Planning”, “The Emotional Stability Components of Human Performance Problems”, “Personnel Policy Workbook Supplements”, and co-author of “Life Management”. He created & published the Cogeneration Human Resources Newsletter, has presented many seminars, and has been interviewed on many TV shows.
He received four graduate degrees: a Ph.D. in Psychology from Columbia University in 1981; a M.Ph. in Psychology from TC, Columbia University in 1980, specializing in assessment, tests and measurement; two M.A. degrees in Psychology, one from TC, Columbia University, and one from the New School for Social Research. He also received certification in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from New York State following completion of a three-year program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at Washington Square Institute for Psychotherapy & Mental Health. Dr. Wexler is a member and officer for many professional organizations. He is Past President of the NY State Psychological Association, a past President of the Personnel, Industrial & Organizational Division of NYSPA, and a past President of the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Association of Personnel Consultants of NY. He is active in many organizations, including the American Psychological Association. Honors include the Presidential Award in 2005 and Distinguished Service Award in 2006 from the NYS Psychological Association. Dr. Wexler moderated a Plenary Program at the 2009 APA Convention in Toronto (21st Century Psychology without Boundaries: Virtual Environment Technology Applications and Implications )and was the SPTA delegate for NY for the 2009 APA Summit on Future of Psychology Practice in San Antonio TX.
