Mary Lee Kennedy, Managing Partner, TKG Consulting, LLC

Mary Lee Kennedy is a partner of TKG Consulting LLC.  TKG is a knowledge strategy and solution design consultancy of global experts with a significant experience set in both research and organizational practice.  Mary Lee was responsible for Knowledge Management at Microsoft Corporation. 

Mary Lee has led global organizations in high-tech, research, manufacturing, energy, government, non-profit organizations, and academia. Mary Lee has successfully led knowledge and information projects in Canada, China, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. Recent projects include reviewing the knowledge strategy for a global bank, establishing a knowledge strategy for a foreign government, identifying breakthrough opportunities for online information offerings, and establishing a relationship management program for a global executive recruiting company. 

Mary Lee is currently the Executive Director of Harvard Business School’s knowledge and information program, responsible for establishing a knowledge strategy that ensures breakthrough research and teaching. Mary Lee held global leadership positions in knowledge management both as Director of the Knowledge Network Group for Microsoft, and for Digital Equipment Corporation. Her work focuses on identifying the greatest organizational opportunities, almost always involving cross-organizational, multi-disciplinary teams, leading to the execution of a strategy to deliver the measurable benefit of all concerned.  This requires strategic insight achieved through proven facilitation and coaching skills. 

In their respective organizations, Mary Lee and her team have earned a number of awards, including the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise Award, the Special Libraries Associations Center of Excellence in Technology Award, and the Innovation in Technology Award.

Mary Lee has a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University, U.S.A. and a Bachelors Degree in Social Psychology from the University of Alberta, Canada. She serves on several advisory committees, and writes for several publications.  She has been published in CIO Magazine, Bloomberg News, Harvard Management Update, Information Week, Intranets, KMWorld Magazine, Library Journal, Online Magazine and PC Week.
